  JAMES RIVER PARK WILDLIFE

The natural areas along the James River provide a sanctuary for a wide variety of wildlife species. Eagles, otters and osprey are among the oddities for an urban environment. The river has sturgeon over 6 feet long and blue catfish over 50 pounds in weight. The park is considered a bird watcher's paradise.
