THE FRIENDS OF THE JAMES RIVER PARK HAVE HELPED TO ACHIEVE THESE IMPORTANT GOALS

Initiated Wildlife Meadow Planting with $5,000 Flagler Foundation grant.
Initiated Regional Recycling Project with grant from Virginia Department of Environmental Quality
Initiated Missing Link Trail project, with grant support from Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation
Aided stabilization of historic Pump House
Initiated Oregon Trail Project establishing link between Oregon Hill and Belle Island bridges
Developed web site and message board for James River Park System
Participated in planning park events, including "Washington Arch" celebration and James River Days events.
Co-sponsored Urban Exploration Walk.
Applied for funds from the Virginia Department of Forestry to conduct usage survey of James River Park
Initiated effort to facilitate gifts of land to the James River Park System.
Developed River Lover's Network
Work with city government and representatives to promote interests of James River Park System.
