Fun Times at the DMV

FOJRP board members were the happiest people at DMV last week when we turned over our stack of 379 James River Park System license plate applications, the artwork for the plate provided by Martin Agency employees, and a check for $10, 260 for the application fees. Ms. Carolyn Easley counted our loot and told us the next step in this long process is the artwork going to 3M for processing. It will be a few months until these plates make it onto our vehicles, so thank you for your support and patience.

FOJRP cannot accept new applications now. DMV is running the show now. Once DMV makes the plates available to the plate-buying public on their website (late 2011 or early 2012), we will let you know, you can be sure! To make this a revenue-generating effort for FOJRP, we will need more than 1000 JRPS plates on the road! We will keep you updated as this process moves along. We are in this for the long haul and know you are, too!

Several people paid for plate applications on PayPal, but never turned in the actual application. We contacted people anyway we could, but in several cases never got a response. We are happy to refund plate fees in this case. Thanks, too to several people who donated their fees to FOJRP when they had overpaid or had to withdraw the application for various reasons. If you or someone you know has a question about the status of their license plate application, anyone can contact us at friends@jamesriverpark.org
