Last Week to Nominate Your River Hero!
February 28th is the last day we will accept River Hero nominations. We've gotten many worthy nominations, but would love to see a flood of them in this last week. FOJRP is excited to partner with our friends at The Boathouse at Rockett's Landing in this new contest aimed at celebrating individuals, organizations, and community groups that make the James in Richmond a better place for us all. Nominations will be accepted only during the month of February. It's simple to nominate someone using the form on our web site. Info and form here. There are so many deserving people and organizations out there. Please help us show them some love.  Winners will be announced on Earth Day. They will receive gift certificates to The Boathouse, a raft trip for two from Riverside Outfitters, and free membership to FOJRP. No employees of The Boathouse or FOJRP board members are eligible and Friends board members will be the judges.
James River Park License Plate Moving Along

Our license plate bill is a part of HB 1418 and has moved through the Senate swimmingly. We can't wait for the governor to sign that piece of paper. In the meantime, if you sent in an application long ago, you might get a call or email from us so we can update your plate expiration date and the like. We want to have perfectly accurate applications to turn into DMV in July when the bill will go into effect. If you have sold the vehicle you sent us the form for, we would need a new form from you by June 1st to insure you get your plates as soon as possible. Thanks for your help with all this paperwork.

DMV has told us that FOJRP can accept completed applications until June 1st. (Remember, we need to hit 1001 on the road before it becomes a revenue stream for FOJRP.) Just $25 to show your pride in one of the best places in Richmond. Please send in your application now and help spread the word to park-lovers around town.

You can get all the information and the application and pay by check or with PayPal at www.jamesriverpark.org. We really appreciate your help (and patience) in making this plate a reality.
